Dyno’s: What are they ? How do they work ?

A dyno is a tool that measures horsepower and torque. When used properly the dyno will allow for a set of conditions to be placed on the engine so the proper fuel and timing maps can be created.

Inertia vs. Load Bearing

An inertia dyno uses the inertia created in the drum of the machine as the car accelerates. Then it takes this data and estimates a horsepower and torque curve.

A load bearing dyno actually measures the amount of horsepower and torque in real time at any point in the rev range. The load bearing dyno is the only type of equipment that meets Lethal Injections requirements.
